Miss Vietnam New Jersey Pageant 2007

History

     This year, the Vietnamese Student Association at Rutgers University has organized the 1st annual Miss Vietnam New Jersey 2007. The goal of the Pageant is to honor Vietnamese women in the state of New Jersey.  Not only will this event establish unity amongst the Vietnamese community, but will increase awareness of the Vietnamese culture. The Miss Vietnam NJ Pageant will be held at Rutgers University which is the largest and most diverse university in the state of New Jersey. The Pageant offers scholarships to all the winners and is reserved for women between the ages of 16-25 and of Vietnamese descent.

  • Miss Vietnam NJ Pageant has two core purposes:
    • To use the format of beauty pageant/culture show to unite the student community as well as the Vietnamese community of New Jersey through appreciation of the beauty of Vietnam and its culture. 
    • Raise funds to benefit charities
  • Place: Busch MPR
  • Date and Time: Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 8:00pm
  • Who can participate: Women of Vietnamese descent between the ages of 16-25
  • The Rounds:
    • Introduction Round: Dance and Self-Introduction (costumes provided)
    • 1st round: Formal Wear
    • 2nd round: Talent
    • 3rd round: Ao Dai
    • 4th round: Q&A
    • 5th round: Top 4, Q&A
  • Positions and Prizes
    • $1,000 for Hoa Hậu Việt Nam NJ/Miss Vietnam NJ
      -crown, scepter, custom embroidered satin sash, rhinestone pin, floral bouquet
    • $400 for Á Hậu I /1st runner up
      -crown, custom embroidered satin sash, rhinestone pin, floral bouquet
    • $300 for Á Hậu II /2nd runner up
      -crown, custom embroidered satin sash, rhinestone pin, floral bouquet
    • $200 for Á Hậu III /3rd runner up
      -crown, custom embroidered satin sash, rhinestone pin, floral bouquet
    • $100 for Á Hậu Thân Thiện /Miss Congeniality
      -crown, custom embroidered satin sash, rhinestone pin, floral bouquet
